They peak out from behind very green leaves and follow you with their eyes.  They smile and coax the world around to send to you rainbows, sunbeams and stars that shine at night.  The lucky, lucky leprechauns are friends you seldom see but they know you and love you best when you need them to send a bit of precious luck.  SO if you want the little Leprechauns to help you, you must be kind and obedient and do what your Mom and Dad tell you and spend at least one day celebrating St. Patrick’s day every year.  Since all of our grandchildren have just a smidgeon bit of Irish running in their veins, it was appropriate to acknowledge the fun of St. Patrick’s day.  So there were green potatoes, punch, salad, pudding, stew, soda bread and anything else that we could think of to celebrate the day.  The luck of the Irish: that could be debated. For our family, we will acknowledge all the luck we can get, realizing that the “luck” we talk of is usually blessings sent straight from Heaven.

So we are very grateful for the blessings we all enjoy.  And we will give thanks for all that we have.
