WAVE THE FLAG

deborahkleishman

Seldom do Canadian people become emotional enough to proclaim in no uncertain terms who they are and what they will stand for. It has been said that we can be scathing and firm yet forgiving. We can be quiet, but annoyingly persistent. We can appear weak, but are surprisingly tough and also resilient.

For us, these maddening, illogical times present an opportunity to declare who and what we are. It has been invigorating to be a little more patriotic and take the opportunity to fly the flag on the 60th anniversary of its birth in Canada. Thank you for the chance to support, sustain, and STAND TALL. Thank you for making us understand ourselves a little bit better, and to still realize that we can take the highroad in all of this.

We are so grateful for family and are excited to live in a country that is relatively peaceful. Because of that, we have enjoyed a very blustery, cold, white out winter. We have had birthdays, and Valentine's day, and fly-the-flag day, and cold no-school days. We have pulled out the winter coats and have lite the fires and chopped the woods and heated the hot chocolate. These are days to be remembered and cherished, and as a Leishman family we are nothing but grateful.
